Live Music Oct. 16-22

Music is life. Breathe some into your week by checking out some of the great singers and bands playing around town. Defunk is doing their thang at Bourbon Street Wednesday night. Don Drury provides the musical entertainment to accompany the moonrise at the Full Moon Party at The Rooftop at Ocean Lodge on Thursday. Water Front'n, a pop-up show presented by FreeMindMedia is taking place at Mary Ross Waterfront Park Friday night from 6:30-11pm with MileHighFlightClub, Blaq Yung Vets, Solid Gold Thunder, TkTrav (Kidd Electric), Nick Bryant and Nine Lives. Or get Bamboozled at the 21+ show by My First Circus and TRAB at the Bamboo Lounge II Friday night at 9:30pm. The Dukes of Glynn return to Murphy's at 10:30pm Friday. Soul Gravy will rock Bubba's Up Saturday around 10pm. Sunday is Rhythm on the River in Queen Square with Michael Hulett. And don't forget the Other Shuckers (Keith & Joey from Backbeat Boulevard with Jeff Montaigne) can be found at Coastal Kitchen every Tuesday with the return of the ever popular oyster roasts. And just in case you're interested, there are a couple musical theater entries this weekend too: the Island Players hit the stage with Monty Python's Spamalot at the St. SImons Island Casino Theatre. Evening performances Thurs.-Sat. 8pm, Sunday matinees 3pm through November 3. Tickets available at the box office. On Sunday, Katie Deal returns to The Ritz Theatre in Historic Downtown Brunswick to breathe life into Country legend Patsy Cline in Today, Tomorrow, and Forever: A Tribute to Patsy Cline. Show begins at 3pm. Tickets can be purchased at the Ritz.
